Best Breakout Brand

breakout-brand-obama
Granted the election has come and gone, but when thinking about some of the most memorable brands of 2008, there is only one that stands out in my mind as being remarkably impactful, groundbreaking and historical.

The Brand Salsa Topper for Breakout Brand goes to “Obama”, and what has become the first political campaign marketed and ultimately now seen as a global brand. No

matter your political preference, you have to agree that this brand has done what every successful brand sets out to do: instill a consistent message. Through logo, taglines, website, and inspirational speeches, Barack Obama’s campaign built momentum and even inspired other brand logos and advertising campaigns. His ability to connect with people in a fresh and unique manner is what makes the Obama brand deserving of this award. Congratulations from Brand Salsa!

I particularly liked how the logo was personalized for different audiences. It helped people latch on to the campaign and make it their own.

I heard on NPR, that there is a new logo for the economic recovery plan. It is also a circle, so I think it will carry some associations with the Obama brand. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=101669743
